I haven't quite mastered the FBCT yet. So, this is an old fashioned way - you poke holes in the outline of the picture and then put the paper on the cake and poke through those holes again. Then you just connect the dots. It's time consuming, but I get a better picture this way. Another way to do it is after you poke the holes, lay the paper on the cake and sprinkle cocoa powder over it. It can be messy that way though.
awesome cake.......I have a ? about the canned sprays......do you think they cover well?? and how far do they go??? does it give you quite a bit in each can???
They do a decent job on coverage, although they do show imperfections, as you can see in this cake. I prefer the Betty Crocker over Wilton. I can could probably cover at least 3 - 8" cakes with heavy spray. You just can't get a fine line with it. It does well for a background sky or ground cover or if you just want to make a cake more colorful real quick.
I'm gonna make one of those spiderman bust cakes.....only half of it is going to be venom....the villain??......so one half is black and one half is red.....no way am I gonna get the colors I want without using 4 jars of color......so I appreciate your response...I have never worked with the spray color before
This is truely an Incredible cake!! Poke holes in the paper method??? Poke holes with what a pen? Can you elaborate more on this typeof decorating please. If you would rather PM, that is fine also. Thanks!
