I heart fashion so much.... the Vogue Fall issue is on my nightstand as we speak. So it was a thrilled to be asked to create something for the Fall Fashion Issue of Cake Central Magazine. My inspiration was a tri-color Stella McCartney dress. I knew I wanted to create something that really allowed the textiles to speak. Houndstooth has made a huge comeback, so I created the bow on top with that pattern. I did stenciling on the 2nd and 4th tier. The middle tier I covered in Navy blue fondant and then I hand made fondant sequins that I covered with navy blue disco dust. The bottom tier was covered with hand made fondant ruffles that took about 9 hours, but I loves the movement of them. I was very honored to be included with all of the other amazing designers in the mag. Great job to all of you! I also am so fortunate that my husband shot the photos for me...Kevin Paul Photography. I will share the close up photos with you soon!

Thank you everyone so much. I really appreciate the kind words and comments. Congrats Lovecake987. I have not had a chance to look at all of the cakes yet, but I look forward to seeing yours. Your words are very very kind. I was overjoyed to be part of this issue.

lenagc to get the blue color I used wilton royal blue, black, and violet to get the deep blue. Then once I covered the tier, I dry brushed it with midnight blue luster dust. I then cut the little sequins out with a tip ten and poked a hole through the center. Then I dipped them in Navy blue disco dust.
