the top tier consists of 2-6"cakes and 1- 8" on top. I filled and frosted the sides upside down. The 6" on top of the 8", after filling I let it set up in fridge then carved the sides slightly to get an angle, then I frosted. It took a few layers of frosting to get it nice and smooth. Then I turned it right side up and frosted the top.
