Wine bottle in crate

wow! What did you cover the bottle in to make it look so much like glass? I would love to do something like this for my dad!

Hi Kelly, I used a mixture of corn syrup and alcohol (like vodka or gin) and painted it on. It takes a while for it to dry, but when it does, it's no longer sticky. Just be sure to get it thin enough so it brushes on easily and as evenly as possible...but not too runny either. Have fun if you decide to make one for your Dad.

Thanks Bvwilliamsm :) No, the label is not edible. I just printed on regular paper, then covered the back with plastic wrap so there wouldn't be any chance the ink would bleed onto the fondant.

fab! Thank you, is there a specific ratio corn syrup to alcohol? Or just until it dissolves? Is it painted on fondant? Such a fantastic technique, can't wait to give it a try!
