Whimsycakes and Formynana: I found this tutorial online, but it isn't the original one I read. It gives the same information though. (...) Also, these tutorial show to mix your colours and prepare piping bags in 4 different colors first and then pipe a vertical row. HOWEVER, this didn't work for me. I kept swiping the rows above and below with my spatula and making nics. I didn't like that. SO, I started at the bottom, did the row, then used tho...

Oh, and PS - I can't take credit for the colors. It's Wilton teal and I just mixed about 5 toothpicks in a cup of icing to make the darker color and then used less and less for each lighter color.
