This is so pretty Wendy. I must "borrow" this for my mother's birthday - she loves purple and the rosettes are so feminine and simple ? they really make for a classy look, and the shade layering dresses it up very subtly as well. Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks, alisonchapman! I crumb-coated the cake with the purple buttercream (so the gaps and negative spaces in between the rosettes won?t be that obvious ;) ). I started on the bottom using Wilton tip 1M and worked myself up, then added white buttercream after each layer to lighten it a bit.
