Our Christmas Queen

My camera then wasn't very good, but, this is the first cake I ever made that wasn't a 9x 13 with canned frosting. I had planned to make it for our Christmas celebration. My beautiful sweet Grandmother ended up passing away on Christmas Eve in 2011, and so I stayed up all night changing my plans into this. Having had 10 children and 47 grandchildren, she was quite the matriarch. We called her our Queen, so I named this cake, "Our Christmas Queen." We served it at her end of life celebration. It was a huge blessing! - Even her favorite flavor, though I had not planned it that way. And it was so fitting, because she loved to have big family celebrations, and special things like this.
