@sharlene_marie - The face shields were made by rolling out flat candy clay, cutting a pointed ellipse approx. 3" L X 1 " H, using small cutters to punch out square in middle and teardrops on sides of ellipse, placing ellipse over cylinder (same size diameter as helmets) to dry.
@dddcakes - I'm currently using Plymouth Pantry Almond Bark, both Vanilla and Chocolate, to dip and have had great success with consistency without thinning. The Vanilla makes beautiful pastels when combined with Wiltons candy colors but dark/bold colors are hard to achieve and tend to streak. In my area, Wilton Candy melts are readily available but I've had NO SUCCESS with consistency...even when thinned per Wiltons directions (via shortening) the mix is globby.
@Momstivers - I make my own candy clay (not sure where or even if it can be purchased). There are many recipes on the web including CC. All recipes combine melted candy with light corn syrup. Recipe variations include ratio of candy to corn syrup, preparation technique, and shelf life. Differences in humidity and hand temperature can affect the clay.
