That is sooo cool! Looks awesome! I love the variation in the color too. It adds an extra cool effect. I think doing a marbelized color to the fondant would even be more awesome! I'll have to try this sometime. How did you get it to stick out that way without falling though? I would think that if you didn't let it dry out first that it would fall...??? Or is it not even fondant/gumpaste?
beautiful ! oh yes, if you please to share how you did this ?? pm or on the forum here thanks ! of course all future credits if I was able to do one of these even 1/2 as great would come your way !
Thank you for the lovely comments. Formynana. I have replied to your pm. Its fondant mixed with tylo and I cut lots and lots and lots of circles out and then pinched them underneath to make the top close in which gives the ruffle effect. I left them to dry completely before I trimmed the pinched bit off and glued them to the cake one level at a time working upwards but leaving each level to dry before I glued the next level on or they will all start to slide down and fall off.
Its so lovely to inspire p...
I absolutely love this cake!!!! I am attempting this as a bottom layer of a wedding cake for this weekend. WOW, it is time consuming!!! Thank you, for the inspiration :-)
