First Topsy Turvy Cakes

love your cakes!!!... getting ready to do my first topsy tury cake my i ask did you put a filling in them? not sure about torteing a topsy turvy.. my favorite is the black an pink!

Thank you Kathy107. I used topsy turvy tins for the cake. I bought them online and just baked 1 layer in each size tin to get the shape. I then baked normal round cakes as the 2nd layer. For the bottom tier I used 8" and I carved them down to a 6" at the bottom. I also carved a groove in the top for the 6" to sit in. I carved the 6' down to a 4" at the bottom. I use cake cards underneath to get the perfect 4 or 6" size. There are some great tutorials on youtube that I watched and these were the first one...
