What a lovely cake. And such a beautiful rose. I?ve never seen a rose so thin. Is it flowerpaste. Is it a special how-to?

thank you hieperdepiep. It's just ordinary homemade gumpaste. I put a tiny bit of pink dusting powder on the edge of the petals, i think that must add to the delicate look. I just use a 5 petal rose cutter to make the roses. Janice xx

I, too, think your rose is gorgeous and delicate. I hope one day I can make roses as well! Beautiful, simple cake.

Awesome. I make gumpaste roses but mine dont look this good. I'll have to keep on practicing.

I love this cake!! and yes the flower and butterflies are amazing and it gives it a very delicate look. I love the sign, did you airbrush it?

Love this cake. Is that a gumpaste rose??
Cupcakesplus 8/13/12 at 6:10am
Thanks for all your lovely comments. The rose is made from gumpaste as is the butterfly which has been made with a Jem cutter, they come in a set of 4. I did the plaque just by dusting with powders and lustre. Janice xx
