Betty Boop

This is my first cake for Icing Smiles (icingsmiles.org), an organization that donates cakes to children with life-threatening illnesses, and their siblings. This cake was for a sister of a patient who has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It is difficult for the siblings of patients also, since their needs sometimes become lower priority when their sister/brother has such major medical problems.

I designed this cake to fit the requested Betty Boop theme. The car is sculpted out of rice krispie treats, then covered in fondant. Betty Boop was molded from modelling chocolate. The lips were chocolate, and I used edible images on fondant for the various pictures of Betty Boop around the bottom tier. It was a big hit, and definitely worth the time/effort that was put into it!
