If You Really Gotta Go...

If You Really Gotta Go... on Cake Central

I made this cake for a coworker that is leaving us. She got a promotion and is moving on. My boss helped come up with the idea of the outhouse when I told him I wanted to do a toilet. This girl is always playing jokes on people and we thought this would be funny. She loved it and won't share any with us! My husband drew out the patterns for the wall and roof. I used royal icing but I must have mixed it wrong because it was very fragile and kept breaking on me - hence all the black scraggly lines!

Having grown up using an outhouse, I would say you did a fabulous job! I love it! Brings back memories...lol!

I actually think it worked out for the best those extra black lines...gives it more of a worn outhouse. Good job!

Depending on size of the cake you're using...I used three 6" stacked cakes so I figured my walls to be 6 1/2 inches wide. Had my husband draw the patterns out according to the measurements. Front wall with door is 6 1/2" wide by 9" tall. Back wall is 6 1/2" wide by 7" tall (to allow for the slant of the roof). Sides are same width and height as front wall with back side 2" shorter to allow for the roof slant.

You want to draw one side wall and then trace it for the second side wall but make sure to flip the second one or you will have one wall that is backwards.

Btw, I used brown and burgundy with a very light touch of black to get this color. Kinda just happened!!
