In community album: Cake Disasters
I have a girlfriend that has her 10 yr anniversary with her hubby this weekend. I told her I'd try to recreate her wedding cake since she didn't get to have too much of it back then - well...let's just say raspberry filling just ain't my thing!! I have never made it before, and I must not have thickened it enough...? Either way, it is a total disaster, and I can't stop laughing when I see it. At least it should taste good hahahaha Still, a little disappointed with the utter failure (of course I cleaned it up some after this shot...haha)

Sorry that happened...next time use a jar of All Fruit (in the jelly isle at the grocery store). it's delicious and sooo much easier to use as a filling for cakes!

I hate when this happens! A trick I learned is to make sure the "dam" of frosting is thick (about an inch) into the cake, then after filling it with fresh fruit, seal it in with a thin layer of frosting on top before stacking the next layer of cake.

I've used a thick dam before and still had this happen, though it reduces the chance. I've never had much luck with liquidy type fillings either - either leaking or slipping, so feel your pain!
