In album: tiered-cake
This is my first ever fondant, tiered, decorated cake. I made it with mmf and did the snowflakes and tree details with royal icing. I got the idea out of the wilton book. I think it turned out pretty well, since it is the first cake I have ever done that wasn't your basic 13 by 9 pan or molded pan with buttercream on it.

I didn't notice the bubble in the cake until I saw the picture. It wasn't noticable in person.

Thanks Ellen! I didn't have the same tree cutters, so I just used what I had and improvised. It was a big hit.

Beautiful. The icing is really smooth. I like the effect of snowflakes drifting down the cake.

This is such a beautiful cake. I love the 3d trees. How did you do the trees if I may ask?

I cut them out of fondant with the tree cutters that I had on hand. You cut out two trees for each one seen. Cut one of them in half. You pipe on each tree with royal icing to make branches. Let them dry for a few days. When you put it on the cake you use royal icing to stick them together.
