Stunning! I absolutely love the colors.

Thanks everyone. The petals were made in four different colors. Just cut out circles and ruffle the edges with a ball tool and stick them on. It's way easier than it seems.
SweetPea0613 7/30/12 at 7:56pm
*actually it was 6 different colors

Beautiful job!! How did you do the top & bottom part? What tool did you use?

Definitely a show stopper! Just gorgeous and love the colors. What was your base color for the petals?
SweetPea0613 7/30/12 at 9:39pm
I used a quilting mat and a tool from a Wilton kit to define the quilting a little more then I just added the details at every other point. For the color I roughly used equal amounts of royal blue and leaf green to get the darkest color. Then I added white fondant to lighten it

This cake is absolutely stunning! I do have a quick question for you. I have done the petals before, just like you described. Do you have a ball tool that is stainless, or is it plastic? I have searched for a stainless one, because I believe it would work better for making the petals. I haven't been able to find one. Thank you for your time!

I used the plastic ball tool. I've been wanting to get a metal one too.
