WOW! this is gorgeous! I love the painted bottom tier and how it pops out onto the base. The tree is amazing and the 'heavy guy'?...didn't even notice him til I read your description:)!!

This is beautiful. How did you get your tree to look like that?! It's sooo real. I tried one and it looked nothing like this! Any pointers?? Just fabulous!

Thank you suzieQ929, I mixed brown into my fondant then separately mixed another piece of fondant darker brown, then I twisted the 2 colors together, I just kinda pushed and pulled the branches out so they would look realistic, I used 3 cakepop sticks to support it, the one mistake I made was waiting till the end to add the tiny branch, it kept falling off, I made a green dome shape with gum paste, when everything was dry (like 3days later) I attached the dome with melted fondant then piped some two ton...

Thanks cakegal76, I used an electronic cutter called cricut, I believe it was the elegant cakes cartridge, I used a 50/50 gumpaste fondant mixture that I colored with a little yellow and brown gel coloring, then I painted vodka and gold luster dust on top of that

Love that tree (the whole cake is great!) and am going to make one. Did you have a center support for the tree or just use sticks for the jutting branches? Thanks!

Thank you Bitsyga, I used a dowel for support in the center then cake pop sticks for the branches, good luck! :)
