using wilton castle kit which was hell to work with unfortunately i had to drill holes in the bottom of the tower to secure with skewers or else it would have never made it out the door
i bought a kit from wilton with all the towers but i would advice using royal icing instead of buttercream for ur icecream cones it will hold better and stiffen up quickly without the need of refrigeration. or u could dip them with candy melts or chocolate this is what i would do if i didnt have the kit. hope this helps
