This is a cake I made for my display. I was inspired by one I found on the internet. I am not sure who the credit goes to. Deep wine, pink, cream and white stripes on a white base.
How did you get the stripes so perfect?! I have a cake to do next week and I have been trying to figure out how to get the bottom round tier striped like this!
Rebecca202003, I rolled out the fondant (it was straight fondant no tylose added) and left it to dry for a few minutes. When it was slightly hard, I cut out the stripes with a pizza cutter and set them aside to dry for another 5 to 10 minutes. Make sure you let them dry straight so use a ruler to straighten them out. Because they are almost dry they will be stiff so are very easy to put on the cake. If you are doing them just on the sides then this method is good but if you are doing them so they go up a...

If they go up and over then this method won't work because they are too dry and will crack on the edge of the cake. When you put them on the cake, put sugar glue on the cake, place the stripe and then use a ruler to straighten it up. Hope I have explained this right. Good luck with your cake.
