Poor Spongebob... this cake was a nightmare. It fell apart on the way to deliver it. The vibration from the truck and the fact that I only used a dowel in the center of the cake (rookie mistake) this one fell quick. Noted use more than one dowel... luckily it was not needed until the next day... so we got a redo on this one! Here is before and after pictures.

SpongeBob "CRACKED" under pressure!

Bummer!! I usually go overboard with the supports. I'd use a board in the middle of the 4 layers and put 2 dowels through it into a thick layer of cake boards. I'm glad you got to redo it!

It was so sad because the piping took me like two hours and I had to redo all that piping again. Exhausting... LOL!

Well, in a way, it was a blessing that a mistake happened, one that you can learn from, without it resulting in a loss for the recipient or it happening in front of party goers. It's great that you have the opportunity to fulfill that order. The other advantage is that since you just did all of this, it should go faster the 2nd time around. Best of luck...Spongebob looked great and I'm sure he will again!
