In community album: Birthday Cakes
This cake traveled over 1200 miles during 16 hours from Denver, Colorado to the Chicago, IL area just to be a part of a 90th birthday party for a very special lady.

She was in the Navy and also worked for Coca-Cola for many years and both of those memories were very near and dear to her heart. I kept the cake rather simple to achieve a vintage feel and also because of the distance it had to travel.

I hand-painted a likeness of her when she was in the Navy in her younger years, drinking a Coca-Cola, of course!

The cake sits on an authentic vintage Coca-Cola crate.

Bottom tier was vanilla cake with vanilla swiss buttercream (requested by the birthday girl), middle tier was Coconut and Key Lime wrapped in white chocolate ganache and top tier was gourmet PB&J - Layers of vanilla cake filled with alternating layers of triple berry buttercream and peanut butter buttercream.

There were also 3 dozen cupcakes that went along with this cake.
