A Stack Of Pancake For Father's Day

I have loved the pancake stacks I've seen here but mine is all buttercream. No fondant. Except for the butter, which are yellow Starburst. Ten layers in total!

I'm curious on your pancake cake if that is chocolate frosting in between the layers?  Could you walk me through how you did it?  I got asked to make it for a smash cake.  Thanks!
