In community album: Father's Day
I made this cooler cake to look just like my husband's little green cooler he takes with him everywhere. First time making a mold and working with isomalt. This was so much fun, I would definitely do it again!! The only thing that is not edible are the labels :(
Bottles and ice are isomalt. Cooler is a peanut butter cake with banana buttercream, covered in milk chocolate ganache.

Excellent work!!! how did you make the ice?
litterellydelicious 6/18/12 at 5:33pm
Thanks Rosie2!! The ice was made by pouring isomalt onto a lined baking sheet. Once hardened, it peels easily off parchment paper. I put it inside a lg ziplock bag, closed it and took my rubber mallet and cracked away! ;)

your bottles came out dynamite! i'm going to try attempting to make my own beer bottle mold. did you purchase your mold of handmade it?

Ahhh, thank you for answering my question. How clever how you did the ice! that's why it looks so real. The whole cake looks like a real cooler--awesome!!

Motorhead I purchased a mold making kit through makeyourownmolds.com The website has incredible instructions (videos) and takes the stress out of making these molds.

Now I want a Miller Lite, LOL!!! They are awesome and so is the cooler! Looks so real. I just purchased a starter kit of the Silicone Plastique from Makeyourownmolds.....love it! It's much easier to work with than Amazing Mold Putty and picks up really fine details!
