I obsessed about this cake for months! The bride and groom bought the Pocket Dragons and wanted a cake to go with them. Ultimately, after looking at dozens of cakes, this one is modeled after one in Lindy Smith's "Celebrate with a Cake" and Earlene Moore's castle cake instructions. It is also very much like the wedding invitations. Except for the dragons and the drawbridge "chains" everything is some form of sugar. The bottom tier is a full sheet cake. The towers are modeling paste over pastillage.

Awesome--this must have taken you ages to make! It looks great. What size is the square base cake?

Thanks Holly PJ. It did take an amazing amount of time. The bottom tier is 24 x 18. It was four half sheets-- each torted and then stacked to make a 4-layer full sheet.
