Practice Peacock - First View
Inspired by all the sculpting and molding that I've seen on CC lately...Got my inspiration while flipping channels and saw peacocks on the Discovery channel.

yes...I molded it from fondant and then painted with the icing colors and then later with luster dust to give it the shimmer effect
Lovely Cake! How did you make the feathers?
I basically flattened fondant w/ a toothpick in the center and then used an exacto knife to cut the feathers. Once it dried, I just painted w/ food color & lustre dust. Once the feathered wings were done, I just pushed them into the body of the peacock.
how fragile were the feathers and could you give me any tips as I'm going to use your cake as a reference for a cake that's due this weekend. Beautiful work!
