Lovely! How'd you achieve such a dark purple?

We made it in a dark purple then painted it with a gel/vodka mix to make it darker.

Thank you so much for replying! I have to do very dark purple flowers for a wedding cake. Did you have any problems with fading?

Actually we didn't have to worry about the fading because we did not add the flower until delivery and set up was finished but I will say we also did an off white with red carnations on this same weekend (I have a pic in my gallery). We added them the day before and had no problems with fading on the buttercream.

Good to know! I painted some fondant today and left it in the sun. Two hours and no fading. Hoorray! Thank you so much for answering my questions. I really appreciate it!
