I made this cake for my dad's birthday. We are pretty hardcore WVU fans in my family, so I decided to go with that theme. The field part of the cake is just chocolate cake topped and decorated with buttercream. I made the helmet using 2 6-inch round pans and half of the sports ball pan. Then I just carved out the front and made the mask with gumpaste. The mask cracked because I kept playing with it - so don't do that. Haha.
