I did this cake for parents who wanted a birthday cake for their son's 1st birthday. If you couldn't figure, they are greek!. When I suggested a cake that was more 1st birthday friendly, the parents said absolutely not. We want something to WOW. So, after much discussion, this is what they wanted. The pillars around the cakes are all molded chocolate. The characters are all hand sculptured. The people are clay to allow for a keepsake. Pegasus is hand sculptured out of gumpaste and chocolate. The flavors are vanilla with berry chutney filling, dark chocolate with bavarian cream and ganache, marble with ganache and a smear of raspberry. Cakes are all covered in Fondant and airbrushed with gold shimmer. The clouds are cotton candy.
