You did an awesome job on the cake - looks beautiful and perfect! You can't beat yourself up for what someone else does...just know you did an outstanding job on the cake itself!!!!! :)

I always tell my brides....if they insist someone else besides me put the flowers on, then I have no responsibility for construction or looks once I set the cake up. But, sometimes you do have to "go with the flow" when a bride thinks thats the way it should be. Your cake looks beautiful, but I know the feeling when you know how you wanted it to look!

Why don't the florist take the same time and effort that goes into a bouquet on a cake?? who knows...anyhow, I think your cake is just Beautiful!

Beautiful cake. I don't let anyone put flowers on my cake except my friend--she is my go-to flower person. If florist makes up the cake top, I give them the dimensions of the top cake and then I put it on the cake.

I have had trouble w/ florists doing tops too even when they have the dimensions. They like to make it huge etc. They don't get what the perception of what it will look like or....... They think if the cake is not visible, only their flowers that all is great. Oops my frustration is showing. Some insist on doing it themselves. It could be worse. Don't worry, I'm a do it my way or else girl too! I have only used fresh flowers on one cake, and I insisted that the florist leave them for me uncut so that I could do it the way I had envisioned...no one else can see what you are thinking! The cake looks awesome, I love the shades of pink! ...and, I like the rose petals scattered around the table, nice touch!

I know exactly what you are talking about...the onle wedding cake I have ever done took me 9 hours haha (it was my very first real cake) and when I got to the place the florist just starting sticking flowers in it! My boyfriend looked like he was going to throw up the whole time she did it b/c he knew I'd be upset! So I ended up taking them out and trying to hide the HUGE holes she made!!! It all worked out tho in the end! phew!
