I looked at the blog but I was wondering about the actual cookies in the buttercream. You use half the cookie including the cream in the bottom of the cupcake. You now have 24 extra "wafers" leftover. Is that what you crush for the icing or do you use an additional 30 whole cookies, cut in half so that you can use the other half to decorate? Do I make sense?
cookiekisses - I used the 24 extra "wafers" towards the total 30 needed for the buttercream - (so you'd just need 6 more WHOLE cookies if that makes sense!) Then you'd need 12 cookies cut in half to top 24 cupcakes. Hope this helped! :)
