Thanks so much for your comments! BTW, kisamarie: I did recently buy the stand. Of all places - Costco. I couldn't believe the deal and even finding them there so I bought two sets of two for my collection and dessert table styling use. Each set of two for (one smaller than the other) came in either white or this pale green - perfect for spring! I can't remember the price but they may offer them online. Take care!
Hi Milisweet, I love this cake so much I decided to give it a go, unfortunately I haven't yet mastered the ruffles, I added tylose to my sugarpaste and left it over night however I still could not get the ruffles to look like yours lol!! any advice would be greatly greatly appreciated, my email is skinane@hotmail.com, kind regards Judy
Hi Judy!
All right, overnight for your sugarpaste is good. I don't use tylose - simply a small amount of water, covering a little 'hunk' of gumpaste.
For the ruffles, it's a must that you use only Fondarific in either Antique White or Wedding White. They have the right flexibility and feel so that you can keep moving your ruffles before they set, and the fondant will not crack. I think there was a bit of Satin Ice fondant in the darker green color. Although you may not see it, I can see it was star...
Milisweet, thank you so much for the tips, unfortunately here in Ireland they dont sell Fondarific yet, hopefully soon, I love your cakes they are all so unique, you are a very talented cake decorator, regards Judy
