I made this shoe and shoe box cake for a woman's conference at my church The theme was "In His Steps". All the decorations were shoes and shoe boxes. This is my first shoe and shoe box. Viewed a lot of shoes and tutorials on this site. Thank you so very much for all your beautiful creations that were very inspiring. Had a hard time with the shoe. Had to make it twice. I wasn't that pleased with it, but all the ladies at the conference loved it. It was a learning experience,but next time I'll do some things differently and that include making my own gum paste. I used the ready to use kind and it started to crack. The cake is a 9x12 cake cut down to 6x11. Frosted in buttercream and covered with Wilton's sugar sheets. The lid is a piece of styrofoam cut to fit and covered in fondant. TFL
