Oval Shape Tiered

Oval Shape Tiered on Cake Central

This was my first oval shaped wedding cake. A bit tricky because of the height. I made in advance over 200 apricot roses and sweet peas from royal icing. Then when dried piped on green royal icing spikes to make the cascading affect. Before I did all the scroll work on the sides I took a tooth pick and drew the patteren i wanted in the icing, then completed the scroll work pattern.

Very beautiful and you do nice work! Aren't all those roses fun! I did a cake for my niece w/19 tiers and roses around the top of each tier. I made roses for hours.

? 19 tiers 3 up and 8 on each side 10,8,6--8,6--8,6--6 on each side A very popular design but not w/ roses on each. The one I did was for my niece! Anyway I love your cake and it is in my favorites!

awww thank you! you have a photo posted of it? Sound Beautiful!! The icing i use is very light not sweet. One ingredient being super fine sugar and flour in cold water brought to a boil. Makes it almost like whip cream.

Sister - how did you attach the roses so they didn't fall in transit? I'm doing one soon and looking for ideas on how to place royal roses on the sides so they don't fall off.
