I used a recipe I got online to make the hat. Sadly I cracked the brim :o(. It was made with gum paste 3 days prior to making the cake so I couldn't make a new one. I used the thickest fondant roller I had to make the cap, so when I pushed in the brim I was too forceful and it broke. I used blue dye, but also brushed it with blue dusting paint to give it a worn look. The base was originally supposed to be a field, but I didn't have enough room. I used graham crumbs for the dirt.
