I got this idea from all the wonderful cakes off of CC. Just a chocolate cake with strawberry filling, and buttercream. I actually pushed in his holes and then added a little butteream to make sure they had the dimension of holes.
ok love the cake. I actually have to make my first spongebob cake in two weeks for $$$$$ I have no clue but if you don't mind i would like to do it like yours with your permission. Please any advice you have I would appreciate it. Where did you get the face to pin-prick it? Also how did you make the filled royal icing so smooth? As you probley can tell i am very new to all this....Please [email protected]
I have sent an email, but for those others who wanted to know the answers: I simply blew up a picture of his face from the internet to be the same size of the cake to pin-prick it. I use Antonias RI thinned to make it smooth on it's own, plus it gives the needed shine to Spongebob as well.
How cute! It's SpngeBob SquareCake...errr...I mean pants. I meant to say pants! I like the idea of give the holes added dimension. Also you did a fantastic job on his face!
