This was a "gender" cake ordered by a mom-to-be for her family who lived far away to cut into to find out the gender of her baby. The filling was tinted pink on the inside as she is having a girl. The frosting is buttercream and the technique is called the "messy ruffle" . Can't remember where I saw it, but I loved it so I had to try it out.
