Thank you both! Laura - it was made by my boyfriend out of MDF. It actually has about four other tiers that can fit with a different base, it all comes apart to mix and match tier sizes for different number of cupcakes. He did an awesome job on it, but I couldn't even begin to tell you how he did it, I'm sorry. Its lots of individual pieces with a 2" center dowel that has a 1/2" dowel in the center of that to go into the tier below to keep it sturdy.
