Outstanding job! I made a similar cake for my daughter's friend and had a horrible time getting the fondant to stay one because I tryed to panel it. How did you do it?
Ivjan777, have added some extra photos to show how I did this. I cut the panels the day before to allow to dry slightly and marked the door panels using a plastic container lid that was just the right size.
wow this is amazing! im doing a tardis cake in a few weeks, i was wondering if you had a centre dowel at all? mine has to travel for about 2 hours and im super nervous! any advice you could give i would really appreciate!
Poostan, I would definately centre dowel your cake . The cakes were 6" square by about 4 1/2 inches tall with a cake board in between plus the "roof" which was also cake so total of around 10 -11 inches tall. Happy to help if you have any other questions.
Great cake!!!! What kind of light is in the top...does it come out to turn it on, or is it wired through the cake? I've been asked to make one of these cakes and I really appreciate your photos and advice.
Thanks SherylB, the lights are mini balloon lights. I got them from a US seller on ebay. You can get blinking or non blinking. They have built in batteries and can be turned on and off by twisting the base of the light. Will last about 8 hours. Hope this helps. Cheers, marisa
