This bride called a few weeks before her wedding, as her family friend had decided to not make her wedding cake. I was so happy I was available to create it for her. She chose an ivory buttercream rosette pattern. The reception was held at the Oklahoma History Museum. I'm so blessed to have a husband who is truly one of the best photogs in the U.S. He tagged along with me to set up, and then shot the pic. Photo by Kevin Paul Photography

Just out of curiosity, are you stacking first then doing rosettes or are you just doing the outer edge so the layer on top sits on smooth icing?

shesabaker, I stack the cakes on site. After I base ice the cakes, I let the cake set up in the fridge. I then take the pan from the tier size above and trace a circle onto the top of the tier I am working on. I then pipe the rosettes from the bottom, to the top of the cake, and stop at the circle. When setting up the tiers, I just place the tier into the circle, if that makes sense.
