Very Beautiful! Is it buttercream? If so, that's beautiful too! If you're willing to share, I'd love to know how you made the tea cup.

Hi Erin12345. The cake is buttercream with a buttercream stencil. The teacup is covered in fondant. I made four 6" cakes, leveled, stacked and then carved using a cake board cut to the exact size of the cake and a smaller 4" cake board for the bottom. I used both boards as a guide to cut the shape. I then iced the layers, dirty iced and stuck it in the freezer for a little while. This is a lovely cake. Did you use moulds to decorate the cup; if so, would you mind telling which ones?
tinascakes8085 1/30/12 at 11:20pm
very pretty, how did you apply the stencil?
julie3535 1/30/12 at 11:32pm
Thank you!!! The mold I used for the design on the cup is one of the Wilton silicone molds. They only have 3 molds that I know of and I used the blue one. I didn't see a name on it. As far as the stencil, you put it right up against the cake and place a thin layer of icing over it. Then carefully remove it. I learned how to do it by watching a tutorial on mycakeschool.com.
