I made this cake for my daughter's 27th birthday. I tried out three new things I had never done before, ruffles, ombre pattern, and a gumpaste peony. She did the photography. The inside is lemon cake with raspberry filling, and cream cheese icing.

Your cake is GORGEOUS! What did you use to cut the strips of fondant? They do seem to have some texture to them.Did you airbrush the colors on? Thank You! Beautiful Cake and sound YUMMY!

I used 50/50 mix of gumpaste and white chocopan, pre- colored, and run through my kitchenaid pasta roller into long strips. Then I used a scalloped cutter on the edge of the strip to get that look. I rolled the edges a little too. I used an airbrush only on the top tier to have a little color behind the flower.

Thank you all for your comments on this cake. A few have sent a private message, but for some reason the messaging on this site does not work for me and will not come up when I click on it. Anybody else have this problem?

The ruffles are not airbrushed, but the top tier is airbrushed on the bottom half of it to add a little color behind the white flower.
