Full Yellow Rose on Cake Central

Hi all! This is my most recent rose-making attempt. I made it after having bought a great DVD (Rose Gumpaste Tutorial) from Edna De la Cruz's website http://www.designmeacake.com. BTW, the DVD is only $25.00 and well worth it -- it is 220 minutes long (yes, you read that right) and it covers many aspects of making roses using various types/sizes of cutters, as well as, some very useful tips/tricks that are not part of her free online rose tutorial.

I made the initial rose using yellow gumpaste -- then painted both sides of each petal with daffodil petal dust. I then came back with Poppy petal dust for the edge accents and down near the bottom of each petal (again, inside and outside).

Oh! One more note . . . I used two different sizes of the JEM brand 5-petal plastic cutters. I actually bought 3 sizes - the 90mm, 100mm, and 110mm (from Edna's site). It was the first time I used them (she covered these in her DVD), but was quite pleased with the results. Plus, the process did seem to go faster than placing individual petals to build my rose.

Anyway, hope some of you find this information helpful. Any questions, do let me know!
