Doing an HG cake for grand daighter in a month - great inspiration. @Sugarthumb - my usual low tech method is to print out the image on an 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of parchment ( the size I'll use on the cake ) then roll out my fondant/gumpaste, tape the parchment image over it, then simply 'trace' the image by poking teeny dots around the pattern - Then cut out with exacto knife adding some dimension to the flat image where needed (eg the sides of the head above) very low tech, but has ...
