I wish I knew who the original designer was of this cake, so I could give them credit. I've seen it done several times, and this one I recreated for my bride in ivory buttercream. I hand piped the wavy lines and then hand made ribbon rosettes. So sweet.

Very pretty! I did this same cake for a bride this past summer in fondant with piping and the ribbon roses! Love the design!

Thank you everyone. It really is a fun design to do. I had only ever seen it done in fondant, and I had to drive two hours (one way) to deliver it. I was a little concerned since we are having a very warm winter, but it all turned out okay. I'd love to do it again in fondant.

I love this design and you did an excellent job. The original is one of my 'saved favorites' from Jan 2009 by "nancys_world"

What tip did you use to make the wavy lines? They look like flat ribbons.

Thanks again everyone. Carmijok, I used tip 10. I wanted to have a thicker line, but not too thick.

I am confused.. when you say ribbon roses.. Did you make them from ribbon or did you pipe them out of buttercream? They match perfectly and it's honestly hard to tell!

Shoemama....they were made out of fondant. Thank you for your kind words!
