I cut large (8") snowflake cookies, covered with royal icing and accented them with dragees and a pinch of edible glitter.  I "glued" them with royal icing onto doily-covered cake rounds for stability and packaged them in large food bags tied a bit of ribbon to close them.

Lovely. Sounds like a great way to package them. Were they mailed and if so how did they do through the mail?

Hi sweetreasures. No, I did not ship them, but I should think the cake round on underneath would provide some protection against breakage. I searched the internet for tutorials on shipping and found a couple of good ones. (google how to package cookies for shipping) I think the key is shipping cookies that don't have delicate appendages package them so there won't be a lot of shifting and use lots of bubble wrap or packing "peanuts" and use a large enough shipping box to protect them.
