Burgundy Roses

Burgundy Roses on Cake Central

This was a practice cake for a wedding shower I will be doing soon. I wanted to try using candy clay because I've never tried it before. I just cannot get my white buttercream smooth, though. I would love some suggestions!!

You can also use a warm slightly damp sponge. Just make sure you don't go to deep w/it or your cake will show through. Also let it completely dry before trying to decorate.

Nice colors! I'm a Newbie so I don't have any advice for you - everything I learned I got from Cake Central! If this is a crusting buttercream you might try to VIVA paper towel method. That's my favorite. I'm in awe of the smoothness that some people achieve - so practice practice practice for me! :)

I just use a spray bottle with water. I've also heard to put parchment paper over DRIED buttercream; smooth and peel off. Never tried it myself, though
