This my Grandson's Pre School Graduation Cake. My daughter asked me if I could help them out, which was difficult as I have had surgery on my right foot which made it very difficult, but how could I let down my Grandson. I was asked to keep the cake simple, so this is a butter cake with vanilla buttercream. Pan size 9x13x3" but I added another layer, so it stood a good 4" high. Because I tried to hide the uneven extra layer I made the rolled fondant thicker. But as the day got a little warmer is soften and started to fold after I had put the fondant shapes, numbers and letters on. So to hide it I added the fondant bees, caterpillers and filled in some of the gaps with fondant faces. In the end it look great, really colourful which children like.
