Snowflake Wedding Cake

Snowflake Wedding Cake on Cake Central

Very simple, just royal icing snowflakes sprinkled with sparkling sanding sugar...then I added some Swiss dots because it seemed a bit TOO plain!

6", 9" and 12" tiers of 5.5" tall, iced in Martha's Italian Meringue BC

Wow! Do you use the paper towel method to get your icing so smooth? I can't believe how smooth your icing is!!!!

Martha's Italian Meringue BC...that sounds delicious...and wow on the height of those cakes...how many layers in each cake may I ask?

Thanks! I use a non-crusting buttercream (Martha's Italian Meringue), so the smoothing is done with the pastry scraper. I LOVE to do the final smoothing with a plastering tool from the hardware store. Really sharp and smooth! Each cake is 4 layers of cake & 3 thin filling layers.
