Your cake is amazing.

I am making a lighthouse cake for my son's wedding.  I am using rice crispy treats to mold it.  Can I frost the whole lighthouse with buttercream, then put fondant decorations on it? Will they stick to it? I was going to use royal frosting to make the raining and a latter which goes up the side of the lighthouse.  I'm just worried that they will not stick in the buttercream.

Thanks
