Sugared Cake

This cake was a creme brulee cake, and the brides wanted the outside of their cake to match the flavor. The top is pulled sugar panels, the middle is rolled in some sugar crystals that were shaken in burgandy luster dust, and the bottom was piped and painted to kind of look like part of their invitations. I used a bead border to tie it all together. I liked each tier individually, but wasn't sure how they would look all put together, but I really liked it in the end. The brides did too, with a fun suprise in the center... (see addtl. pics.) This ones was tons of fun and it was a nice chance to really put a part of the couple into the cake.
